Hector was started the fall of his 2YO year and has mostly been used on the ranch. You'd look hard to find another one that handles this good. He's light in the face and will tuck his head down to his chest if you want. He'll stop from lope in the middle of the pasture with just a touch on the reins. He neck reins and moves off your legs, sidepasses and turns on HQ both ways and backs up nicely. You can open and close gates on him, swing a rope, drag stuff, and I've used him to flag colts around the corral on their first saddlings. He's moved cows and wrangled horses and is not herdbound or barn sour. His mother was a super speedy 1D barrel horse and his maternal half brother is a 1D barrel horse that doubles as a 4-H horse for a 12 yr old girl and has been used for goat tying and roping too. Hector has all the tools to start on barrels or roping and he won't get hot. Easy to catch and loads in the trailer, stands tied, good about hoof trimming, bathing and clipping. He's never been sick or wire cut and has good, strong black hooves and good bone.
